Resting is important, whether you're resting from work or just taking a breather from things for a few minutes, everyone needs rest and without some kind of pause in a day to day life to just relax for a second builds up a lot of unnecessary stress that no one should be going though.

I bring this up because every end of quarter at the company I work at for the last week of the month everyone is all hands on deck and everyone comes in that entire week, sometimes if you're lucky the month ends on Thursday so they give everyone 3 days off, however this previous quarter the month ended on a Sunday which meant everyone had to come in 7 straight days which when it's all said and done the paycheck + bonus you get is incredible but 7 days without any kind of rest gets really stressful, it's a little less stressful knowing it's not just you doing this and everyone else is also in it with you. But on a related topic this does sound like quite the absurd practice in the workforce however I'm fortunate enough to work for a company that cares for the employees and won't overwork you if you need a break so everyone is always super on-board with staying the whole week, especially because management is stuck staying the whole week too which just shows not even they are out of this loop. Getting back on topic though, throughout this week I found myself making time as soon as I got home to jump straight onto the couch and get a quick nap because coffee and red bulls are never the answer for more energy, sometimes the answer is simple, some good old relaxing restful sleep.

I say all this because in my personal life I don't get enough rest, sometimes it's not just about sleep it's also just about sitting down and actually relaxing, either scrolling social medial or just laying there in peace, but I know I don't get enough of this but I believe the first start to improving yourself is realizing you're doing something wrong and trying to fix it, which in the spirit of full transparency, that is half of what these blog stories are, they let me realize I'm doing something wrong, help me reflect on myself, and allow me to put these kinds of things into words, and that as a whole is my first step in trying to correct something I know I need to correct, that being I need more rest, and for the most part, I think we all do, but in the end it's all about what works for YOU.
